Your wedding date may be months away, but how should you start notifying guests about the details of your big day, most importantly the when? Especially with out-of-towners, it is important to let your guests know when your event will be taking place so that they can make travel and lodging arrangements before it’s too late. What better way to do that than sending out “Save the Date” notices? Your guests will appreciate the advance notice, and it is a fun way to begin your wedding count-down.
You can send out your Save the Date notices six to nine months in advance of the wedding day. The notice can take on the form of a formal card or a fun and exciting letter, but most importantly, it must include your names and the wedding date. In the case of destination weddings, the location should also be included so that guests can start to plan accordingly. You should only send out Save the Date notices to guests you plan on inviting to the wedding.
