Assembling Invitations

Your invitations give your guests a preview of what is to come, so it is important to send them out on time and with style. A little extra time and effort makes a big impact on how your guests will receive the information. If your presentation lacks organization and isn’t handled properly, your guests may feel as if you are lacking excitement. Below are a few steps on how to assemble your invitations to create an elegant, completed package that your guest will love.

*Before you begin to assemble your wedding invitations, place a stamp on each of the outer envelopes as well as on each of the response envelopes. Address the outer envelopes before inserting invitations.

  • Start with the invitation face-up in front of you. Place tissue paper over printed wording (if applicable).
  • Place reception card on top of the tissue paper, printed side up.
  • Enclosures with envelopes should be tucked under the flap on the envelope so that the triangle covers part of the writing on the enclosure. Don’t forget to place a stamp on your response envelope.
  • Hold the pile and place it in your inner envelope with the first fold of the invitation at the bottom of the inner envelope, and with the writing on the invitation facing the back of the inner envelope.
  • Now hold the inner envelope with the writing facing you. Place the inner envelope into the outer envelope bottom first with the inner envelope facing the outer envelope.
